Tom Brady's new commercial for Under Armor (via Funny or Die) is a comeback story of sorts. Yeah, he's dreamy and married to a rediculously attractive woman and won a couple of Super Bowls and did one of the funniest skits EVER on SNL....but he also did a regrettable ad prancing around in Uggs. This is definitely his redemption effort.
Each evening when I go for a run, I pass by the Maxwell House Coffee roasting facility. LOVE the smell it gives off. And it's pretty old-school to have a roaster in the backyard, eh? With that said, maybe I'm a little biased toward wanting to like this new campaign from Maxwell House for their French roast, but the writing and casting are brilliant. The plunger line is perfectly delivered.
I'm not the first person to question the long-term viability of Groupon, Living Social, et al. At some point, you've gotta wonder how they're going to sustain interest from businesses willing to give away the house in order to get an unsustainable sales bump.
And if you need any more proof that group deal sites are struggling to recruit businesses, check out this gem of an offer via Living Social this week.
Checked into a Kimpton Hotel recently and was reminded of their clever marketing tactics.
First, there's the free happy hour every night for anyone who's interested. Nice touch.
Then, after you've had a few pops and head back up to your room, Kimpton offers free WiFi - but only if you join their InTouch loyalty program. Bingo - just captured your info and you're in their CRM system.
And then on this last trip, I was presented this card when I checked in. $15 in "free" minibar items is obviously baked into the room rate, but it's still really clever. If only a single airplane bottle of Jack weren't $15....
